Outdoor timber is constantly exposed to rain, moisture and the elements. Left untreated, timber absorbs water, which can contribute to swelling, cracking, splitting and rot over time.

#JUSTSEALIT Wood penetrates deep into the timber, creating an invisible water-repellent barrier from within. Instead of forming a coating on the surface, it bonds inside the timber, helping to keep water out while allowing the timber to breathe naturally.

But protecting timber isn't just about durability. It's about preserving the beauty of natural wood without creating an endless maintenance cycle.

Traditional oils, paints and stains sit on the surface. They change the appearance of the timber and eventually weather away, requiring regular sanding, stripping, repainting or re-oiling to keep the timber looking its best.

#JUSTSEALIT Wood takes a completely different approach.

There is no coating to peel or flake. No glossy finish. No colour change. Instead, the timber is free to weather naturally, developing a clean, even silver-grey patina over time rather than patchy, uneven weathering.

The result is timber that looks authentic, ages naturally and requires dramatically less maintenance, eliminating the need for constant re-oiling or repainting every few months.

Preparation

• Clean the timber thoroughly with Power Foam, our neutral to slightly alkaline cleaner, to remove dirt, grime and surface contaminants.
• Rinse thoroughly and allow the timber to dry completely before sealing.
• Apply only when the surface temperature is between 10°C and 30°C.
• Test in an inconspicuous area first and allow 24 hours to confirm you're happy with the result before treating the entire surface.

Application

1. Apply one even coat of undiluted #JUSTSEALIT Wood using a low-pressure sprayer or microfibre applicator.
2. When using a microfibre applicator, always work with the grain of the timber.
3. Immediately apply a second wet-on-wet coat to ensure complete coverage.
4. Remove any excess product or pooling before it dries.

How long protection lasts depends on the material, surface texture, environment and traffic levels. There’s no honest single answer. What we can say is that the chemistry itself is extremely durable. Unlike coatings, our penetrating sealers bond within the mineral structure rather than sitting on the surface, which is why they won’t peel, flake or delaminate. A maintenance coat every 3–5 years keeps performance at peak levels regardless of conditions.

No. Just Seal It products are impregnating sealers that absorb into the surface rather than sitting on top. When applied correctly, they do not alter the natural slip resistance of the material.
