HOW TO MEASURE
IN ORDER OF ACCURACY
An old quote / invoice
It may seem obvious, but the most accurate way is to use an invoice from your installer or paving supplier, which would give you the exact square meterage (m2) ordered.
Measuring tape / wheel
Measure the length (L) and width (W) of the area you wish to have treated (you may have multiple sections to measure - if so, tally all of these up to see total area size in m2)

Step it out
A full sized step is approximately 1 metre. Step across your space while counting, and then calculate by multiplying the length (L) by the width (W).
Counting cars
Imagine the entire surface area combined. How many standard cars
(eg. Ford Falcons) can be parked on the total surface area?
One car is approximately 18m2 (a standard double car garage size in Australia is 6m x 6m = 36m2 - we divided this number by two to get
this number). If you believe there can be 2.5 cars parked on the total surface area then this would work out to be 45m2 (18m2 x 2.5 = 45m2).
